I went to the bathroom and the receptionist said Marybeth said if you have all those symptoms you should go to the emergency room. I persisted and said I am worried it is a thorn in my side (I fell on a honey locust branch) that might be causing it.

Marybeth (nurse practitioner was all they had on call) came in looked at my wound from afar (no touching only I lifted my shirt for a glance, my flesh was angry), she proclaimed "that's infected and gave me a prescription", but I asked for her to see if she could see it. She REFUSED to look at it closely, stating if the thorns are long and it will be in too deep, "you need to see a general surgeon" Without giving me a referral she sent me on my way. I googled how to visualize a thorn and realized an x ray wouldn't work. I went back the next day and requested she order an ultrasound at the Image Center on Wolf Pkwy...(why should I have to pay a general surgeon before knowing if a thorn was indeed imbedded) She again REFUSED! Stating I should get a regular doctor to write the order. I told her she was not a nice person. I went over to First Choice. I felt genuine concern from these folks. Not one but two people closely examined my wound stating they did not think anything was in the wound still the doc wrote an order for the ultrasound, should the problems continue.
I wish I could give less than 1 star. I went there because I have no insurance and could not afford an emergency room visit. They asked my symptoms, I put stiff neck, joint pain, mild fever, sweating, injury from thorn.
I will NEVER return to Medpost. I feel like I was scammed for $100, when I was vulnerable for help. I did not use the prescription for antibiotics because the wound WAS NOT INFECTED! Thanks for NOTHING MedPost.
Honestly I don't have a single bad thing to say about my experience here. Every staff member was extremely nice, comforting, understanding, and very informative about my condition. I will most definitely refer others to Med Posts Urgent care at 853 West Poplar Ave in Collierville, Tn. I prayed for days for help for me to go to the doctor, and my prayers were truly answered. From the bottom of my heart I thank each and everyone of you. Best experience I've ever had.
